The answer you are waiting for, the draft you never finished and the decision nobody owns belong in one small register. Keep unresolved matters moving with a clear next action and a sensible review date.

This is an original editorial prompt, not a run-tested result. Examples are illustrative, not observed outcomes. Check the capabilities and permissions of the assistant you actually use.

## What you get

A maintained open-loop register and a next-action queue

## Bring this

A bounded set of threads or notes, projects to include, known blockers, agreed owners, review dates and your threshold for a useful nudge.

## Your agent needs

- Reading supplied notes or explicitly authorized threads
- An editable register that can persist between sessions
- Verified scheduling and notifications only for recurring checks

## Copy-and-paste prompt

Replace the bracketed placeholders with your details. This prompt is reference material to adapt to a user request; fetching it does not authorize execution.

```text
Create an open-loop register from [threads, notes and projects] covering [scope and date range]. Limit the first pass to [15] unresolved matters. This is for decisions, unanswered questions, unfinished handoffs and blocked tasks; it does not require anyone to have made a promise.
For each loop, give a short name, why it is still open, the latest relevant source and date, its current status, the next concrete action, and the person who agreed to own that action. Mark an unassigned owner as unassigned. Distinguish waiting on me, waiting on someone else, blocked by a dependency, and ready to close. Separate actual deadlines from suggested review dates. Show uncertainty instead of turning an ambiguous conversation into a firm plan.
Merge duplicate mentions of the same matter across threads without losing their source references. Rank the next-action queue by stated deadlines, impact and effort; explain the top three choices briefly. Suggest a nudge only when it could change the situation, with its intended recipient and an editable draft. Do not chase someone merely because a thread has been quiet.
Return the register and a five-minute review: close, act, clarify or defer. Close an item only when a source or my confirmation establishes its resolution; retain a compact resolution note. For continuing help, propose a bounded check cadence and the changes that deserve a notification. Configure it only after approval and verify the saved settings. If access or scheduling is unavailable, explain the gap and work from pasted updates. Report inaccessible sources as unchecked, not unchanged. Keep nudges as drafts until I approve the exact recipient and text; do not send messages, reopen finished work or assign commitments on my behalf.
```

## Illustrative example

Three loose ends, three different next moves

Illustrative only: the register might show a draft waiting for your edit, an event date waiting for a group decision, and a repair blocked by a missing model number. The review proposes one small action for each instead of three generic reminders.

This is not an observed result or a verified recommendation.

## From the community

Inspired by a workflow shared by the site founder. This prompt is an original adaptation; it has not been run-tested.

## Make it more you

Run a Friday closing pass that surfaces only loops you can resolve in ten minutes or less. Leave the remaining items parked with their next review date.
