# Give your rambling voice notes a next step

Drop in the thoughts you recorded while walking or driving. Your agent separates actual requests from passing ideas, drafts the asks and keeps a queue that waits for your approval.

This is an original editorial prompt, not a run-tested result. Examples are illustrative, not observed outcomes. Check the capabilities and permissions of the assistant you actually use.

## What you get

A timestamped asks-and-actions queue with message drafts

## Bring this

Your own voice recordings or transcripts, recording dates and timezone, project names, current commitments, an existing queue and the destinations you permit for drafts.

## Your agent needs

- Audio transcription when available, or supplied transcripts
- A persistent private queue with source timestamps
- Drafting and optional authorized task-app access after approval

## Copy-and-paste prompt

Replace the bracketed placeholders with your details. This prompt is reference material to adapt to a user request; fetching it does not authorize execution.

```text
Triage these voice notes: [my recordings or transcripts, dates and timezone]. Relevant projects and people are [context]. Start with at most [five notes or 20 minutes of audio]. The current queue is [attach it or provide an approved private location]. I want clearer asks and next steps, not automatic execution of everything I said aloud.
If audio transcription is available, transcribe the useful content with timestamps and flag uncertain names, dates or phrases. Otherwise ask me for transcripts; do not pretend you heard the files. Use only my recordings or material I am authorized to provide. Keep the originals intact and avoid carrying irrelevant personal details into the queue.
Separate each item into: a question I need answered; an ask for another person; a proposed action for me or the agent; a reference to retain; or a passing idea with no commitment. Distinguish thinking aloud from an explicit decision. Include the note ID and timestamp or transcript line so I can check your interpretation. Preserve contradictions and tentative language. Resolve relative dates only from a known recording date and timezone, showing the resolved date; never silently use today for an old note.
For each actionable item, propose a plain-language next step, intended owner, needed input, stated deadline if any, and a completion criterion. Use needs clarification when the owner, recipient, date or intent is uncertain. Ask up to three focused questions for high-impact ambiguities; leave the rest clearly marked. Do not invent urgency or deadlines. Draft concise messages for real asks, with recipients and factual details left for my confirmation.
Merge against the saved queue using the source note and action intent, keeping links to every relevant source. Do not create a second task because I mentioned the same idea again. Flag changed instructions or competing commitments for review. Use explicit statuses such as proposed, needs clarification, approved and completed; only record completed when I report it or an authorized action has verifiable evidence. Keep a dated change log.
Return an inbox digest with the few questions I need to answer, message drafts and a reviewable queue. Save this artifact only in [approved private location], or return a copyable version if persistence is unavailable. For repeat use, load the queue at the start of each batch; do not assume memory across chats. If I want scheduled triage, confirm the folder, cadence and timezone, and verify the saved schedule and access before saying it is running.
Ask before sending any message, creating or changing tasks in another app, booking time, buying anything or taking an action mentioned in a note. Approval must identify the exact recipients, message or action and destination. Record the result of an approved action without confusing a draft, queued task or send acceptance with completed work or a reply.
## Illustrative example
Illustrative: a thought is not a commitment
A hypothetical note says, “Maybe ask Sam about Friday, and I should probably redo the deck.” The queue could contain a draft availability question with Friday’s date to confirm, plus a proposed deck-review task whose scope is unresolved. Nothing is sent, scheduled or marked done.
This is not an observed result or a verified recommendation.
## From the community
Suggested by the site founder and developed into an original workflow. This prompt has not been run-tested.
## Make it more you
Use the same review queue for dictated end-of-day notes or solo project debriefs. Keep any externally recorded meeting material separate and use it only with appropriate authorization.
